It was a small and eroding military dependents’ village inhabited by an old military veteran known as “Grandpa Rainbow”. To save his village from the threat of demolition, he began painting the walls, doors, and grounds of the village with vibrant colors and characters, bringing life back to the drab and rundown exteriors. Today, the village has become a major tourist destination and a great place for photography enthusiasts to test their skills.
Located on Dadun South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City, Taiwan, it is one of the ten mosques in Islam in Taiwan and the only place of worship for Muslims in central Taiwan.

The poetically lake is the most famous lake attraction in Taiwan. With over 100 square kilometers, the lake got its name because the northern part of it has the shape of the sun and the southern part of it has the shape of crescent moon (those two parts are separated by Lalu Island). “Autumn Moon Scene of the Sun Moon Lake” is considered as the most attractive 12 sights in Taiwan.
