Meet your guide at the Ximen MRT Station, and set off to get to know the various cultures of the Ximending district. Your first stop will be Tianhou Temple, the oldest temple in Taipei. Your guide will tell you about its history with the sailor and fisherman.
After visiting the temple, you will walk along Japanese Street, U.S.A. Street and Movie Street. The district embraces Japan, the United States, and ancient China's influences, but still has its own character, as you'll see. Continuing on, you'll visit the Ximen Red House, which sells creative commodities and handmade goods, always at bargain prices. And the last, have a bizarre dinner in Modern Toilet Restaurant.

Taipei's Tian Hou Temple, which is also known by locals as the "Ximending Mazu Temple" is one that is easy to miss as it sits in an obscure and almost hidden location in the bustling Ximending shopping district.

【Modern Toilet Restaurant】
Everything in a typical 260-square-metre, three-story restaurant is based on items from a toilet room or a bathroom. The checkered tile covered walls are adorned with showerheads, while plungers hang from the ceiling along with feces-shaped lights. The chairs are actual toilets (not operable), dishes are served on plastic miniature toilet bowls, and drinks are offered in miniature urinals.
